TCL has taken steps to ensure regular software updates for the devices, promising one major Android upgrade for the 10 Pro and 10L, as well as security updates every two months for the next two years.
A statement from a spokesperson representing the company says that “We can confirm both the TCL 10 Pro and TCL 10L will, at minimum, receive one major OS update as well as SMR updates every two months for 2 years”. This statement could suggest that possible owners of the devices may receive an Android 12 update as well, but there are still no confirmations regarding this as it is largely speculation for now. The devices were released with the Android 10 OS, meaning that the first update should be the Android 11 and if there is another update, then we may get to see the Android 12 come to the fore.
